Emerson Lopez Odango

Emerson Lopez Odango was born in the United States to immigrants from the Ilokano- and Cebuano-speaking regions of the Philippines. He is a PhD candidate (ABD) in Linguistics at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Prior to his graduate studies, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Federated States of Micronesia (2006–2009). Matters of language shift and reclamation are integral parts of his linguistics research. And his favorite nasal stop is [ŋ].
