Wellington, New Zealand
Laurie Bauer is Emeritus Professor of Linguistics at the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. He has spent his entire working life worrying about how people make up new words, and still does not have a clear picture because people manage to do more clever things than linguists seem able to cope with.
